Let's celebrate with a flashback to the opening of our fanfic we wrote together waaaaaaaay back in 1999 (when you were *coff*young and innocent*coff*),
A Hamburger Isn't An Ending:
Mulder pulled the car to the side of the road and shut off the engine. He batted the gold key chain hanging from the ignition.
"Mulder?"
"Hmmm?"
"Why did you stop?"
Mulder leaned his head back on the headrest, closed his eyes, and sighed.
"Scully, I have something important I need to tell you."
She sat up in her seat, her full attention on Mulder.
"You know you can tell me anything, Mulder," she said, her face serious.
Mulder looked at her, then closed his eyes again.
"I know," he said.
He leaned over and took her hand. "This is something that is truly hard for me to admit, Scully, but after five years together, I'm sure you'll understand."
"Mulder, what is it? You're scaring me."
"Scully..." he said, looking at her, "I think we're lost."
"That's it?!!" she cried. "That's what's so hard for you to admit?"
"Well, I've never gotten lost before, so..."
"Jesus, Mulder, here I thought you were going to purge your soul with some earth-shattering revelation!"
"But there's something else, Scully," he said seriously.
"Oh," she replied, taking his hand again. "Sorry. Tell me, what is it, Mulder?"
"We're out of gas, too."
She pushed his hand away. "I thought you filled the tank when I was in the bathroom at that gas station."
"No, I was playing Asteroids."
"What?"
"I forgot to get the gas. They had this old Asteroids game set up...y'know, the one with the little roller ball instead of a joystick..."
"You're saying you were playing Asteroids instead of pumping gas..."
"Could *you* honestly pass up a game of Asteroids? I mean, it's a classic..."
