I was visiting Tumblr today when I stumbled upon a post about something called Coursera, an online service that provides university-level courses in a variety of different subjects for free.
The courses are all online, and most are taught by professors from top schools. There are courses here from Princeton, Duke, University of Melbourne, Johns Hopkins, and a whole lot more.
As seen from my subject, I'm interested in the University of Toronto's Aboriginal Worldviews and Education. It's a four-week course that starts February 25. It's being taught by Jean-Paul Restoule of the Ojibwe nation.
From what I can see each week of these courses consist of an online lecture, and there could also be homework (depending on what you take) and projects. There are some pretty amazing courses offered, like "Fantasy and Science Fiction: The Human Mind, Our Modern World" or "Introduction to Philosophy" or "Medical Neuroscience" or "Property and Liability: An Introduction to Law and Economics."
Some of the courses at the top of the list have already started, so if you're interested check out the ones that haven't started yet.
