This week has been productive from an apartment standpoint. I finally decided to set up the home entertainment system, mostly so I could get all the equipment out of my closet. I set up the 5.1 surround sound system (I do have 7.1 capabilities but nowhere to put speakers), along with the Wii and PS2 on component, PS3, DVD player, and cable box on HDMI, and drilled a bigger hole through the wall to run another cable from the cable box in the living room to my computer in the bedroom. My girlfriend also got me a new desk from IKEA and she set that up this weekend.
We also got around to setting up my giant IKEA bookcase room divider which will hold most of my books and DVDs still sitting in boxes in the dining room. I'll start that unpacking this week. My girlfriend also built a nice breakfront/credenza we got from IKEA to hold all our desk stuff. We kinda like IKEA.
The big CRT Sony TV I've had since 1999 finally got moved into my girlfriend's bedroom, and we also unpacked the last two boxes in there and went through a bunch of clothes to be discarded/donated. So much accomplished!
In between all this I got the one video game that interested me this season on Lightning Deal from Amazon and even cheaper because of credit card points I accumulated. This move to Illinois is good for one thing: no tax paid to Amazon, unlike NY.
Now I must get a new chair for my desk because my old chair is too short.
And finally, on my list of things to do this week is write something for the Nick Lea Holiday Zine.
Tomorrow I'm hoping I get a call from the job I interviewed with week before last. Please, please, please, pleeeeeeeeeeeeease let me get a call. *deep sigh*
