I'm writing my review for Supernatural Season 3 today, and I need some help.

I'm pretty sure they didn't get it back from Bela. She hid it somewhere and her deal came up before she could tell them.
Really? The Wikipedia entry on Bela says she sold the Colt. I have a vague memory of this, but I can't recall if she ever told them who she sold it to.

I can work around it in the review, because it would be giving too much away about the season anyway.
She told Dean she'd sold the Colt, but she didn't say who bought it.
Hmm, that's what I recall. Thanks.

PS Your icon is really cool!

PPS I knew you'd respond. You are my Supernatural go-to gal! :-)
You are my Supernatural go-to gal!

Hee. I like that title. ;-)

And thanks, about the icon. If you'd like to use it go right ahead.
I'm almost done with the review...I'll post it here for you!
Yay! Thanks! ♥
Here it is:

In the two-part finale of Season 2 (aptly titled "All Hell Breaks Loose"), Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) sold his soul -- literally -- in order to bring his murdered brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) back to life. In 2007-8's Season 3, the Winchester brothers wrestle with the rules of the demonic contract: Dean only has one year to live before he's taken down into Hell, and if he tries to break the covenant Sam dies. Despite this warning, Sam searches desperately during their regular quests as demon hunters to discover who holds the contract in order to reverse the deal. What's interesting to watch as the season progresses is the emotional toll Dean's decision takes on both brothers. Both Ackles and Padalecki are up to the challenge; scenes in the episode "A Very Supernatural Christmas" are some of the best in the series so far. Other notable episodes include season opener "The Magnificent Seven," in which Sam and Dean meet the mysterious -- and suspiciously helpful -- Ruby (Katie Cassidy); "Bad Day at Black Rock" introduces antiquities thief and season-long antagonist Bela Talbot (Lauren Cohan); in "Mystery Spot" Sam is trapped in a horrible day that keeps repeating over and over; the humorous "Ghostfacers" features a team of ghost hunters who get in the way of the brothers; and in "Jus in Bello," we're introduced to Lilith (Rachel Pattee), the powerful demon who wants the brothers dead. Concluding the season is the finale, "No Rest for the Wicked," in which the Winchesters meet Lilith in person, and Dean's contract comes due. The 16-episode set contains over an hour of bonus features and an offer for a digital copy of the season.
Is there anything about a wee Metalica car with the set? There's an article that says there will be one, but there doesn't seem to be confirmation anywhere. Inquiring minds and all that. :-)
Lemme check the WB business site real quick....

Nope. There's a *featurette* about the Metallicar, but no actual car. That would have been cool, though.

Damn, I was hoping it was accurate. I wonder if it's a bonus for one of the retailers like the Paley Festival was for Best Buy for the season one DVD release. Hmmmm. I wonder if it could be Target. I need to go to work tomorrow and see if I can look at next week's ad. *crosses fingers*
I just looked online at all the weekly ads for Target, Circuit City, and Best Buy, and they don't have anything exclusive for SPN as far as I can see. They have stuff for Heroes and Entourage, though.
Are next weeks' ads up yet or just this weeks?
All the ads for this coming weekend
I didn't know they put those online this early. Cool. I'll have to spin buy and check out the prices.
Oh, and disclosure: I didn't really care for the season opener, but it was the easiest way to explain about Ruby :-)
I'm still trying to pick my jaw off the ground that you still haven't watched the finale.

It's probably too late, but since you said you weren't going into detail in the review anyway, here's the thing with the Colt. Ruby said she sold it, but then it turns out she made a deal of her own as a child and her experation date was coming up, so I wonder if she really sold it or if she ran out of time before she could come up with a plan to use it. It was never made clear. Thank you, writer's strike.
Heh, no, I did actually watch the finale. It was about 4 weeks after it originally aired, but I did see it. What I meant in my post (which I have just edited) is that I *saved* the finale on my DVR, but didn't get around to re-watching it before I had to write the review. I forgot we have a half-day tomorrow because of the holiday, which meant I had to write the review this morning.

You can read the review here. It's in the comments, right underneath Mars' post. :-)
Ah, that clears that up.

Is it the 18th yet? :-)
I wondered if she had taken the Colt to use for herself, in order to protect herself from the Hellhounds. You think the Colt could have protected her against them?

Gah, I can't wait for the new season to start on September 18!
I doubt she'd have the skills to really use it to defend herself. Sam and Dean wouldn't have had that problem, which is why I think they wrote the episode where it was stolen. The SPN PTB, I think, really wanted Dean to go to hell and if they had the Colt, Dean could have either saved himself or Sam could have done it for him.
