Graham Norton = love
Why don't we have a talk show like Graham Norton's in the States? Even though I don't know who many of these British celebrities/popstars are, I always enjoy watching his programme <-- (that's cuz I'm talkin' about UK TV).
I caught up today with two episodes I had taped but hadn't watched. One was Miriam Margolyes and Ashley Jensen (both of whom I didn't know, even though Jensen is on Ugly Betty) and the Christmas special, which had Russell Brand, Lorraine Kelly, Christopher Biggins, Barbara Windsor, & The Feeling, all of whom I didn't know either. The Feeling was another British emo boyband that Graham is so fond of (are there thousands of them across the UK fer crying out loud?).
Stage actress Miriam Margolyes was an absolute hoot, and comedian Russell Brand was hysterically funny. I loved the way he used language -- I dunno, I can't describe it properly, only that he was really clever. Here, see what I mean.
I love the way Graham turns the show into an audience participation event, and gets the celebrities to talk about stuff you would never hear about on US TV. US TV talk shows are so frickin' boring. I mean, Miriam was talking about the time she had a guy (fully clothed) stick his erect penis into the bum area of her skirt when she was on the Tube. And Russell was talking about going to a sex addicts recovery center. Do you know how boring US celebrities are when they keep repeating the same thing over and over on talk shows?
And the funny thing is, even though I don't know who these people are, I never fail to watch, and laugh.

the feeling
Happy new year!
Re: the feeling
And I loved watching David Boreanaz toss his socks into the audience!!! that would *never* happen on American television....
I love the nutty things he does with his celebrity guests, so much more interesting than watching them sit on a couch and talk to Jay Leno or whomever. I love it when he goes to their fan sites on the internet right there and calls the people up, or just pulls out some risque prop or something. It's hilarious. I loved the ep with Brian Molko of Placebo. Graham gave him a guitar-shaped toilet seat (!) and he had this voice-activated vibrator, which he gave Brian the microphone to and strapped the other end on an audience member (RIGHT ON her crotch, but over her jeans) and had Brian sing into it. Hysterical.
