XF Krycek Don't Touch

XF2 filming photos, but I'm sure you've seen them by now

Krycek is angry in my icon because he's not in the movie

Flist, you need to keep me appraised of these things! There are photos of the XF2 filming over at [info]xfiles right here. There are others there too; click on the community link.

Thanks to [info]celspi for linking them at her journal, btw, because otherwise I would have missed them. XF peeps, keep yer eyes peeled!

And, upon reading some of the comments at the comm, I get a real sense of tween 'Shipper squee that I'm not all that enthused about. I was in college when the series first came on, and X-Files will always be my favorite television show, ever. I love other shows (*kisses Oz, Torchwood, BSG, The Wire, classic SVU before the soap opera monkeys ruined it*) but XF always has been an obsession. Wait...OBSESSION. There, that needed some allcaps.

I'm not harshing the squee. Far from it. I look forward to Action!Mulder and Action!Scully on the big screens again, especially after all the hoops they had to jump through to make the film *coff*Chris Carter And His Lawsuit*coff*.

I mean, I love Mulder and Scully, don't get me wrong, but perhaps I have a broader view of the show because I was, y'know, not in middle school when the show began. I can see beyond the OMG M/S forevah!!111!!1 side of things, which some newer fans tend to miss. I enjoy the excitement, just not the teenagery aspects to the fandom. Does that make sense?

Yes.

But I tend to squee like a teenager about Mulder and stick in random Krycek comments whenever possible, so I'm not being very mature about it even though I'm not a shipper. D:

LOL, I NOTICED. You are becoming a BAD INFLUENCE ON TEH KIDS.

Squeeing like a teenager is fine. I'm all about squeeing. I guess I just miss the old days, or something. Everyone is too damn young now. Stupid kids! Get off my lawn!
WELL NO ONE TOLD ME I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A GOOD INFLUENCE. NO WONDER I AM DOING IT WRONG.

I'm older than you! I'm just way more immature. :D:

COME SQUEE WITH ME. COME BACK TO THE DARK SIDE. WE HAVE HOT GUYS AND COOKIES. AND TOO MUCH ENTHUSISM.
I wish she did... I still remember her amazing M/K trilogy that she wrote not so long ago... ;)

And [info]inlaterdays I just hope those shippers don't hurt you anywhere where you mention M/K. Because well, then I'll interfere. And you know, when I open my mouth (when I see immature and narrow-minded), they'll unleash the dogs on us!
I also remember someone who created the fantastic covers to each of those stories :-) I've never left! I still think about them! It's part of my DNA.

Yeah, it's going to be harder being a slasher nowadays.
Yeah, it's going to be harder being a slasher nowadays. Which is kinda...disturbing, because isn't the world becoming...more tolerant towards this issue?

Look, there are lots of show on TV now and lots of slash which is almost there, if not openly hinted at (even though the characters can have hetero relationship as canon). Yet, it seems that XF fandom is singularly focussed on MSR because it's canon and nothing else is possible. Gah. It's ridiculous. Why can't Mulder be bi? Why can't Krycek be gay? Why can't Scully be...eh...insirt smthg provocative here. /grins/
We'll fight 'em if we have to!

(I love you. You are amazing. You know that, right?)

So far they are playing nice. But it's great to know you have my back. :D
I think it would be better if we flight. We'll definitely have if I say everything I really think of human stupidity and the fucked-up leading characters of the XF last two seasons.

And YAY I WON THE COMPANY BREAKTHROUGH OF 2007 AWARD! I'll have to transfer the squee to my LJ now.
I've never left the Dark Side! I've been happily ensconced in its evil, loving arms for years now!

Hee hee, you are older than me. I know by how much, too, hee hee.

I WILL ALWAYS ENCOURAGE YOUR M/K SQUEE.
~*~13 YEARS~*~

I invented dirt.

I'm Mulder's age! (Though I think DD is a year older than me but I forget.)
HEH HEH, you icon! You are EEVIL, now I'm sure.
/stares ar Mulder in a helmet/

I wish we had a fic about it.
I get a real sense of tween 'Shipper squee that I'm not all
I'm in the same boat with you. I would have welcomed XF2 more if I was sure that they make a MoTW movie that does not take MSR as a given. And - God forbid! - concentrate around it! Anyway. We can always rewrite the canon. ;)
Well, I hadn't seen these. But then I've been pretty much living under a rock lately...

I read the comments and agree with your assessment. Geez, when the show came on I had been married for more than several years and had a toddler... I squeed over the show obsessively, too...but never even knew what being a 'shipper' meant...

I'm just very much looking forward to seeing this film....
Now you can take Rachel with you to go see the film, huh? :-) If you can pull her away from her friends to go see something mom wants, LOL.
Yeah, that would be nice...her tagging along with me....

But when you are at the age where your friends opinions are more important than your mothers..... LOL!!!

I don't know whether I'm looking forward to the movie, or not. It's a strange feeling, and I'm not quite sure what is the cause of it. Of course I'm very disappointed that Krycek won't be in it, I missed him dreadfully when they made the first movie, but I don't think that's the whole reason for the feeling.

I've still got a lot of unfinished X-Files stories on my HD; maybe, one day, I'll finish them. :)
Despite Alex's absence, I'm still looking forward to the movie. Next year it will have been 10 years exactly since the first one (and I'm still using the mousepad from the first movie).

I can't help but being excited, just to see my favorite show of all time on screen. We can't say that about many TV shows.
Wait, whut? 10 years since the first one?!?!

DUDE.

I had no idea that they were even making an XF movie.
Off to read up.

Thanks, and I thought I was SO OMG TOTALLY OVER my XF obsession. Sigh.
Ha, you'll never be over XF.

Yep, it was June of 1998 that the first film came out. A lifetime ago.
I understand where you're coming from. I'm completely ambivalent about this movie. The only reason my butt will be in a theater seat opening day is to support David. MOTW or not, they could have found a way to have Nick take part, even if it was a cameo with him walking by Mulder on the sidewalk. I think Nick deserves a much larger part than that, but he deserves at least that.
Wow! Thanks Rhymey. David looks so good!

*grumbles* Wish Krycek was in it...

for purposes of clarification...

In the film, that is. *snicker*

Re: for purposes of clarification...

LOL, oh, don't deny it. Succumb to teh pretteh!

Re: for purposes of clarification...

LOL, suuuuure that's what you meant. >:D
Thanks for the link. I'm completely out of the loop these days.

Makes perfect sense. Like you, XF has and always will be my main obsession/fave TV show. And like you, (well, not exactly like you) I was in college when XF first came came on. Except, I'd gone back to school late in life, so I was 34 when it premiered. (That's the "not exactly like you" part.) Also, I've never been a fan of romance, so I was a serious NoRoMo. Still am, and hope they won't waste too much screen time on any romance between M&S. If there has to be romance in the X-Files, I want it between Mulder and Skinner. (Sorry, not a M/K fan.)

Now I'm off to read some new M/Sk. :)
