Razor, boys kissing, and GLAAD with Jamie Bamber

For Battlestar Galactica fans, tonight is the 2-hour movie premiere of Razor, the movie that fills in the gap of what happened to the Pegasus (commanded by Admiral Cain, otherwise known as actress Michelle Forbes, aka Ensign Ro Laren from ST:TNG) when it first survived the Cylon attack, and it gives us a bridge into Season 4 (which doesn't start until APRIL, GAH).

The reason I mention this, aside from the obvious fangirling, is that the first hour is up against TWO BOYS KISSING ON TORCHWOOD.

The programming monkeys are so mean!

If you get BBC America but aren't a fan of Torchwood, at least tune in around, oh, 9:45 p.m. or so just to see the smooching. I timed the boy on boy kiss, and it's approximately 22 seconds of hotness. It will be interesting to see if BBC America shortens the liplock with an edit for prudish American standards. Let's hope not!

Oh, sort of speaking of, I hear Jamie Bamber (Apollo on BSG) is one of the actors that have filmed a public service announcement on behalf of GLAAD. The spots use actors to urge viewers to combat homophobia, and immediately after Razor (or during, the media release isn't totally clear) you can see the spot.

Also, is it wrong that I love Jamie Bamber from such made-for-TV-movies as Horatio Hornblower? (OMG that's such a vile name.)

Yep, it's totally squeeworthy.

It even works if you watch it without ever having seen the show. It sort of lives on its own for the most part.

That is so cruel. I finally have digital cable and I have to choose, thanks for the heads-up, btw. I completely forgot I can see Torchwood now. I guess I'm taping Razor and watching Torchwood.

It's ironic that they chose to air my two favorite shows at the same time. I had already seen the Torchwood episode, so last night was Razor. I'd be interested to know what you thought.

I haven't got to see Razor yet. I had to work this morning. I was excited when I found out that there was a Torchwood marathon today. I really liked last night's episode and like the one I'm watching as well. I think I'm going to enjoy this series. I'm a little confused, but I can get all caught-up when the DVD set comes out.

Do you know when in Jan. BBC America is going to run season two? I'm probably not going to have time to see all of season one before season two premieres. That kind of sucks.

The DVD set comes out January 22, and the UK broadcast comes out a bit after that, so I think it's sometime after that. It's late January anyway.

I never got into the new BSG, but understand I'm missing something good. Guess there's always Netflix...I can catch it that way...

Can't wait for Torchwood tonight! 22 seconds, eh? Guess I need to get a stopwatch!!!

Re: BSG...have I ever steered you wrong before? ;-) It's more than just a sci-fi show. It has a way of mirroring what's happening in our current political climate, and it focuses on moral ambiguities and questions that humans still fight over, such as religion. It's easy to dismiss it as just a space epic, but it's much more than that. It will have you hooked.

Then I gotta catch up on BSG via DVD. When is season three due out?

No news on Season 3 yet. With Season 4 coming late March/early April, I'm guessing they might have it ready by February. But I haven't seen any news about its release yet.

of course, my Flist will be the first ones to know once I do :-)
