A few quick Vancouver photos

I should be in bed right now, but I wanted to share a few quick photos. I have over 600 I need to comb through, along with video I took. Here's a few quick shots.

It's misty up in them thar hills.

Downtown Vancouver, at the corner of Granville and Davie Streets.

The sunset from Coal Harbor.

Grizzly bear from Grouse Mountain.

Whistler.

And a waterbug from a pond at Capilano Suspension Bridge park.

I also have to work on a Vancouver icon...

Great pics!!!! So gorgeous up there! I'll have to visit someday!!

If you could take that first pic and darken the sky and add some clouds rolling thru and write "THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE" across the sky, it'd be the opening to the X-Files!! ;-)

Heh, that's a good idea for an icon!
ooooh oooh oooooooooooh

The second one is my favorite. I really like the first and last ones, too. Those street signs, though, are gorgeous.
Thanks! I'd hoped I'd get a favorable review from you, considering all your picture-taking expertise. I love how the street signs came out, too.
I wouldn't quite call it expertise, but thanks. =)

(I can't wait for the rest of your pics!)
did you get to go up blackcomb? it's so beautiful up there!
PS BEAUTIFUL PICTURES!
Thanks. Yep, we were in Blackcomb, but you had to imagine where all the snow was. Whistler and Blackcomb were basically ghost towns in between the seasons.
I saw A.M.P.E.D. was filming on Granville Ave. according to IMDB and the comments there.
GAH. Noooooooo, don't tell me that now!!!! Well, those outside shoots are a bitch to get close to regardless, because there are always about a thousand people working near the actors. It's okay, I won't cry too much. *sob* I didn't really have a chance to hunt him down, anyway. I was too busy.
Holy crud! A real, live, Grizzly Bear! Awesome photos!
Thank you. The grizzly were in this protected habitat thingy at Grouse Mountain, so that shot was a zoom and me standing on the wood fence!
Wow. I don't think I ever get tired of seeing those mountains and that bay/harbour area no matter what the angle. You take really beautiful pics!
Thanks very much. Those are just a few of the 600+ photos I took -- don't worry, I'll definitely be sharing more.
Whoa! Those are fantastic! Esp. the first one and the one Whistler (it's a town????). Maybe you have more? Ah, I'm partial to any landscape (city or country) that has mountains, for Latvia is as flat as a nun's arse!
Yep, Whistler is an actual town, just like in Nick's TV show. They didn't exactly film there, however, but you can imagine how beautiful it is when it snows. I love mountains too, as this was the first time I had ever seen them. I would have liked to have gotten closer, go on another day trip, but Whistler was pretty good. I'll definitely have more pics to share soon.
Vancouver is one of my all time favorite cities. I wish I could go more often. I can't believe you saw a bear!!!
A bear in a protected habitat fenced-in area, but yeah. Not as cool as seeing one in the wild, but you have to go way out of town to do that.

I enjoyed the landscapes and the beauty of the city. Next time I think I'll visit the Canadian Rockies and Banff National Park in Alberta.
Gorgeous pictures! I enjoyed your souvenir posting too. Seems like you had a glorious time. Glad you're back, though! :)
Awww, thanks. I love the love!
*stares*

OMG, that first one totally looks like an X-Files screencap.
Yeah, I should make an icon. :-)
Whistler is beautiful and damn! You were close to that bear...
Naaaah. It's all about the zoom, baby! And the fact that I was standing on the wood fence to shoot over the metal fence that kept the bears in.
Wow, a bear! And Whistler! And I love those street signs.

*sigh*

I am totally there in '07, dude. I mean it!

In the meantime, I am hoping you post every one of those 600 pics, lol. I'm enjoying living vicariously through you. I hope we can get together up there one of these days because I really want to visit Banff too!
Yes, but who knows if there's going to be a vancouver Krycek Extravaganza come 07? Because for me, I've already seen all there is to see of vancouver more or less, and I'd like to see other stuff next. Like Banff and the Canadian Rockies.

I'm going to go through the pics this weekend and see what's good enough to upload and what I have to chuck.
Gorgeous place, beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing!:-)
Thanks! It was really beautiful, and I had a great time.
Vancouver is my favorite place, besides where I live. My dream is that someday I'll be able to live 6 months of the year there. I miss it a lot. Beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing them with us!! :)
Thanks! Vancouver is amazingly beautiful. I could have spent another week there at least, just taking photos. It's gorgeous.
